Jockey Robert Landry wins #2000 - He hit the milestone with his win aboard 12-1 longshot Firetheexecutive in the 9th race at Woodbine on Wednesday.

Terrain euthanized - He had to be euthanized after breaking down in the Iowa Derby on Friday. He had broken sesamoid bones in his right front ankle and a condylar fracture of the cannon bone of his leg and could not be saved.

Queen's Plate Barbecue - The Canadian Triple Crown is about to get started with the Queen's Plate on Sunday June 21. Monday eight of the 14 horses expected to enter were paraded at the annual Queen's Plate barbecue.

Weekend Kentucky Derby Prep Recaps - The Louisiana Derby, Rebel Stakes, Tampa Bay Derby, and San Felipe were run on on Saturday. While some favorites performed as expected, such as Pioneerof the Nile winning the San Felipe, there were some huge upsets really changed the Triple Crown picture.
2009 Cheltenham Festival - Results and photos for ten of the Group 1 stakes over the four days of the 2009 Cheltenham Festival, the biggest jumps meet of the year in England. Jockey Ruby Walsh won a record seven races at the Festival including the featured Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Risen Star and Silverbulletday Stakes - It was Louisiana Derby Preview Day at the Fair Grounds and Friesan Fire won his second Triple Crown prep, winning the Risen Star Stakes (G3) by 1 3/4 lengths over Flying Pegasus. Mineshaft Handicap and Pan Zareta Stakes - Also at the Fair Grounds on Saturday, Honest Man easily won the Mineshaft Hcp. (G3) for the handicap division while Precious Kiss won the Pan Zareta Stakes for the distaff sprinters. Get the results, charts, and photos here.
Fair Grounds Handicap and Colonel Power Stakes - On the turf course at the Fair Grounds Saturday, Diamond Tycoon rallied wide to win the Fair Grounds Hcp. (G3) while Chamberlain Bridge drew away to win the Colonel Power Stakes for the grass sprinters. Get the results, charts, and photos here.
Preakness Infield Changes for 2009 - In an effort to clean up the rough reputation of the Preakness Infield crowd, this year fans won't be allowed to bring in beverages but they will have 3 bands giving concerts including ZZ Top.
Jockeys - new TV series on Animal Planet - The show, which focuses on the California jockey colony, premieres on Friday February 9, 2009, at 9pm ET in the US and Saturday February 10 at 9pm ET in Canada.
