The $2 million Maker's Mark Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1) featured a field of 12 older fillies and mares going 1 3/8 miles around 3 turns on the turf. Left: Loves Only You in the winner's circle. Winning trainer Yoshito Yahagi said, "You know, when we finished second at Sapporo, I picked that race because the turf track is similar to Del Mar. So we try to test on that ground how she handle and she's not good at using, continuously using, so that's why we need to give a break each races, so that's why we give this rotation."

Right: The trophy presentation for the Filly and Mare Turf. Winning owner Mr. Tomoto said, "We had so many horses that ran in the Breeders' Cup and we never (experienced) victory. That's why I feel like a challenger, coming here and finally we got victory here."

Right: Loves Only You heads back to the barn in her winner's blanket. Yahagi added, "We got the invite from the Hong Kong Cup, so after the Breeders' Cup we will stay here at Del Mar and prepare to go to Hong Kong. First time she went overseas actually she wasn't that good at traveling, but each time she travels she's getting better and better and she gets stronger mentally."

Second place finisher My Sister Nat in the post parade. Trainer Chad Brown said, "I'm so proud of this mare. It's bittersweet because she ran the race of her life, but it was her last race, and unfortunately, she never got that Grade 1 win that she deserves. She had a couple of tough beats. Nevertheless, she is off to the breeding shed and she has been a wonderful mare to train. I look forward to training her babies."

Right: Third place finisher and beaten favorite War Like Goddess heads out to the track. Jockey Julien Leparoux said, "We had a good trip.  She was nice and relaxed relaxed early.  Just before the three-eighths pole she took a hold of the bridle on her own and made that big move.  I had to go on with her then and we got carried wide.  It was sooner than I would have liked.  She ran a very good race."

First time by in the Filly and Mare Turf. William Buick aboard defending champion and 5th place finisher Audarya (12) said, “She ran a very big race considering the run we had. She got boxed in then denied a clear but ran on strong to the line.”
