Country House, winner of the 2019 Kentucky Derby after the disqualification of Maximum Security

It's that time of year again when the soon-to-be three-year-old Thoroughbreds start their campaign for the 2020 Kentucky Derby and dream of the elusive Triple Crown. There will be a prep race somewhere most weekends from now on until the Kentucky Derby, which has been rescheduled for Saturday September 5, so additional scoring races were added by Churchill Downs officials, including the Belmont Stakes which for the first time was the first leg of the Triple Crown rather than the finale.

Keep checking back with this list as I will post results and links to recaps or stakes histories for all the races weekly. Only races which earn points toward getting in the Kentucky Derby field are included. You may also want to check the Road to the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard since the points earned by contenders are what will determine who gets in the Kentucky Derby at entry time this year.

• 2020 Kentucky Derby Entries - A field of 18 was entered on Tuesday for the Kentucky Derby (G1) to be run on Saturday. Belmont and Travers winner Tiz the Law is the 3-5 morning line favorite and drew post 17. Honor A.P. is 5-1 from post 16 and Authentic is 8-1 from post 18. • 2020 Longines Kentucky Oaks Entries - A field of only 9 fillies was entered on Monday for the Kentucky Oaks (G1) to be run on Friday. Undefeated Gamine is the even money morning line favorite with Swiss Skydiver the second choice at 8-5. Get all the horses, odds, and free past performances here.
• Monday Kentucky Derby and Oaks works - Monday morning at Churchill Downs, Max Player had a timed work in preparation for the Kentucky Derby, while Art Collector, Major Fed, Necker Island, and Sole Volante galloped.
