City of Troy (Classic) did a jogging lap, then galloping lap of the Del Mar dirt track with the rest of the team. Trainer Aidan O'Brien said, "We're very happy with the preparation. We've given him a hard time lately and it's like going into a world championship boxing match. You have to be ready to be driven over and bulletproof and we think he's as bulletproof as we can have him before he runs. Then, who knows, maybe there could be more things we should have done."
Derma Sotogake (Classic) did an easy exercise on the main track. A representative of trainer Hidetaka Otonashi said, "We will put blinkers on him. I expect him to race aggressively."

He happened to be one of them."

Mixto (Classic) galloped 1 1/2 mile with Tony Romero up. Trainer Doug O'Neill said, "He has two wins over this track and the only one in the (Classic) field to have won at the (1 1/4-mile) distance here. I definitely feel like he has a chance."

Next (Classic) galloped 1 1/2 mile. Trainer Doug Cowans said, "He's special to the whole team, not just me, the owner, the assistant, the grooms, the exercise rider just the whole stable. He's taken us a lot of different places. And not only taken us there, he's won. He's done it impressively, and he's here. He's made us all proud of him. He's an extra special horse."

It's pretty much the same thing every day. She goes out there and does her business. She likes to go to work every day; she marches out there and does her thing. I don't feel pressure. I would rather be the favorite. You don't want to disappoint, that is the biggest thing. After all of this (training), it's out of my control. This is like being on vacation. On normal mornings, we have 40 horses and have to worry about riders and sets. This is easy."

We really wanted to try the Classic, but you've got to be realistic, and the mile looks like our best chance. Why not give it a go?"

We ran him in the Fourstardave and he ran a great second. He was unlucky in his last race and had some stuff not go his way in the race. He's got more calmer, more professional with every run and as a result bringing him over here so far, he's been perfect."
