The fillies never get the press the boys do, but on Friday they get the spotlight in the Longines Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs. On Tuesday the post positions were drawn for the 143rd Longines Kentucky Oaks and a full field of 14 3-year-old fillies plus one also-eligible made the entry box for this $1,000,000 Grade 1 event over 1 1/8 miles on the main track.

As expected, Paradise Woods is the 5-2 morning line favorite off her 11-length romp in the Santa Anita Oaks (G1) at Santa Anita. Regular rider Flavien Prat gets the call for trainer Richard Mandella out of post 4. In to challenge her include 9-2 second choice Miss Sky Warrior, winner of 5 straight including the Gazelle (G2). Regular rider Paco Lopez will break from post 10 for trainer Kelly Breen. Two fillies are 5-1 third choice in the morning line. Farrell and regular jockey Channing Hill drew post 7 for trainer Wayne Catalano. Winner of 4 straight, she swept the Fair Grounds prep series winning the Silverbulletday, Rachel Alexandra (G2), and Fair Grounds Oaks (G2). Bob Baffert trainee Abel Tasman drew post 13. After winning the Starlet (G1) at Los Alamitos she finished second in both the Santa Ysabel (G3) and the Santa Anita Oaks (G1). Mike Smith gets the call Friday.
