The 20th anniversary of the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships is now history. Although there was lots of great racing with beautiful weather, there were other things at Santa Anita that day besides the horses. The backdrop of the beautiful San Gabriel mountains and the bright sunshine made it hard to get a bad photograph, whether it was during the morning workouts or the races Saturday. Here is a selection of scenic photos and celebrities who were in attendance.

The Breeders' Cup jockeys were all introduced
as part of the opening ceremonies.
A color guard of western riders brought in the US flags.
The jockeys and color guard watch while
Sharon Hills sings the national anthem.
A quartet of buglers announced each race.
The Breeders' Cup flowers in storage
waiting for the winners.
Even the Seabiscuit statue in the paddock
had a Classic winner's wreath.
The post parade for the Filly and Mare Turf with the crowded grandstand behind them. The horses break from the gate for a Breeders' Cup race.
The mountains make a lovely background for eventual Classic winner Pleasantly Perfect Thursday morning. Looking across the main, turf, and training tracks to the mountains on Tuesday morning.

On to the celebrity photos
