Left: Expert Eye in the winner's circle. Winning trainer Sir Michael Stoute said, – "He's run a great race. Last time at Chantilly, he did not get the rub of the green. I'd like to thank James Savage, who rides him out every day. He's done a great job with him. I thought down the back straight that Frankie may have just had him two slots behind, but was in control. We love coming to the Breeders' Cup. It's always great coming here."

Right: The trophy presentation for the Mile. Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Juddmonte Farms said, "It's been on the agenda for quite a while. We had him after he was unlucky at Longchamp. We thought about the QEII, and the ground really was -- they'd had a lot of rain into that, and then the Breeders' Cup became even more paramount for this horse because it's so important having shown so much promise as a two year old, which he did. He was an exceptionally exciting prospect. To have that realized now is very important."

Left: Expert Eye heads to the winner's circle. Winning jockey Frankie Dettori said, "I didn't want to be that far back, but my main concern at that stage, get him the wheel, and I did. He took me really well around the turn. As we go into the straight, I asked him to pick up, and the response wasn't there for about 100 meters, I felt we were going to be a good fifth, and then he just managed to find his rhythm, and I could see the leaders stopping, and asked him for a next step, and in the last 100 yards he really got down and sprinted home. I went from despair to joy in the space of 100 yards."

Right Expert Eye heads back to the barn after the race. Stoute added, "He's exuded class from the beginning. He had a little bit of a problem with his training and the stalls incident, but even in the Sussex he didn't get (indiscernible) the green there, the race didn't go right for him. He'd been running some very big races since the Jersey."

Left: Second place finisher Catapult returns after the race. Jockey Drayden Van Dyke said, "He broke sharp and put me in a good spot on the first turn. I had a clear trip from there on out. He gave me a good kick on the far turn, passed (Analyze It) late but couldn't hold off the one on the outside (Expert Eye) in the last couple of jumps."

Right: Third place finisher Analyze It in the post parade. Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. said, "The horse was training so good. He broke good and he just ran a big race and got third. He ran his heart out. He ran so good and fought the whole way. A horse moved a little early on the backside and it didn't bother him. He came running. He's a 3-year-old and we have a great future with him."

Left: Last place finisher and beaten favorite Oscar Performance crosses the finish line. Jockey Jose Ortiz said, "He completely missed the break. He's been breaking a step slow lately, but not as bad as today. Today, he almost stood there after the gate opened. Game over after that."

Right: The horses break from the gate for the Mile. Jockey Jevian Toledo aboard eventual 4th place finisher Divisidero (15) said, "I got into good position in the beginning after breaking from the outside. I let him pick it up early to get into position and I was kind of outside, but that's better for him because he likes it out there. He ran so hard and he likes this track. I have no complaints. The other horse just came running at the end, so we have no excuse. It feels great to ride in my first Breeders' Cup race. He always comes running hard and giving percent."
