Monday was chilly and breezy but finally sunny, once the sun was up anyway. The main track was rated fast and the turf course rated good and quite a few horses came out on the turf today. There were only three Breeders' Cup horses who had timed works today: Midnight Bisou, Yoshida, and Quarteto de Cordas. Enable was out today too, but she only walked around in the mile chute and I was never able to get a photo of her. All the Europeans who arrived early Saturday went out to the track today after clearing quarantine. The post position draw is this evening, so check out all the entries, post positions, and morning line odds here later that night.

Lone Sailor (Classic) drew post 5 in the Classic. James Graham will be in the irons aboad the 30-1 outsider for trainer Tom Amoss.

Yoshida (Classic) worked 4 furlongs in 49.60 at 7:30 Monday morning. Trainer Bill Mott said, "It was very good. The clocker said 49 and 3." as the 19th of 37 timed works at the distance today. He worked 5f in 1:00.80 back on October 22. He is looking to become the second Japanese-bred after 2014 Mile winner Karakontie.

Midnight Bisou (Distaff) worked 4 furlongs in 49.00 on Monday morning. Owner Jeff Bloom said, "It was picture-perfect. Angel (Garcia), her regular exercise rider, was aboard. She backtracked by walking around and stood there a little bit then she just absolutely cruised through an easy half and had pretty strong gallop in about 1:02. It was as perfect as you could hope for. She pretty much cooled out by the time she got back to the barn and dropped her head, alert and happy."

Quarteto de Cordas (Turf) worked 5 furlongs on the turf in 1:04.40 on Monday morning under jockey Brian Hernandez Jr., through fractions of 13, 25.80, 39.80, and out 3/4 in 1:19.60 in company with unraced 3-year-old stablemate Always Cool, who stayed to his outside. Hernandez said "I didn't know anything about him when my agent called and said we had one to work for Ian (Wilkes) He had a little more life today than he did last week because he's better acclimated."
