There are lots of other things to see at Belmont besides the racing. Here are some miscellaneous and scenic photos for you to enjoy.
![]() ![]() ![]() Shaquille O’Neal of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns was at the Belmont dressed as a jockey like in his Vitamin Water commercial. Vitamin Water was one of the many sponsor on Belmont Stakes day. |

![]() ![]() Looking down from the grandstand into the paddock early in the day before the crowd had all arrived. Unfortunately for the 94,476 who came out, the weather was blistering hot with high humidity and lots of sunshine. To add insult to injury, the city had water supply problems due to too many people opening fire hydrants to try and cool off and the water pressure dropped so low the toilets in the restrooms couldn't be flushed, causing them to be closed. Needless to say, this created quite a problem with everyone drinking lots of beer at the track and having nowhere to go relieve themselves other than a convenient corner or trashcan. Yuck! |

Right: Puppeteer Robert Smigel has Triumph the Insult Comic Dog interview an outrider horse for Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Right: Trainer Nick Zito and owner Robert LaPenta watch while jockey Alan Garcia holds up the Belmont Stakes trophy. He seemed to have the easiest time lifting it, all those muscles in his arms from riding I guess.
