Note:   Wild On Ice looks to become only the third Texas-bred to win the Roses, after 1946 Triple Crown winner Assault and 1950 winner Middleground. He won his first two starts at Zia Park before shipping to Sunland Park where he finished 9th in the Riley Allison Derby. He then finished third in the Mine That Bird Derby and then won the Sunland Derby (G3) as the 35-1 longest shot on the board. Sadly he broke down after a workout at Churchill Downs on April 27 and had to be euthanized having sustained a fractured left hind leg.
