Drawing the posts with track announcer Daryl Wells and last year's winning trainer Roger Attfield. |
Entries were taken and post positions drawn on Wednesday for the 71st running of the Prince of Wales Stakes, the second leg of Canada's Triple Crown. A field of eight three-year-olds were entered headed up by Edenwold, winner of the Queen's Plate three weeks ago. Six other horses are back from the Queen's Plate including second place finisher Sterwins and third place Malakoff. Only one new horse joined the fray this time, allowance winner Royal Challenger. If Edenwold can win again, he will go on to the final leg of the Triple Crown next, the Breeders' Stakes at Woodbine.
