Triple Crown 2011

This year the Kentucky Derby is on May 7, the Preakness on May 21, and the Belmont Stakes on June 11.

Belmont Stakes Contenders - A field of 12 was entered on Wednesday, headed by Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom from post 9 and Preakness winner Shackleford from post 12. Get the entires, post positions, morning line odds, and free past performances plus profiles for all the horses here.

Shackleford wins the Preakness - He took over the lead in the stretch then held off the late close by Animal Kingdom to win by a half length with Astrology third. Get the results, charts, and photos here.

Animal Kingdom wins the Kentucky Derby - He was 12th early on but rallied wide in the stretch to win by 2 3/4 lengths over Nehro and Mucho Macho Man in front of a record breaking crowd. Favorite Dialed In finished a disappointing 8th. Get the results, charts, and photos here.
