He won the Sham Stakes at Santa Anita then got up late to win the Santa Anita Derby by 1/2 length over Bob Black Jack. Made a mild rally to move up from 17th early to finish 6th in the Kentucky Derby, then laid off until the Swaps Stakes at Hollywood Park in July where he was 3rd. Shipped east to Saratoga to win the Travers Stakes on August 23 last out.
