Final entries were taken and post positions drawn today for the Breeders' Cup World Championships to be held on November 4th at Churchill Downs. There were very few surprises other than Super Frolic going to the Mile instead of the Classic and Discreet Cat was not entered as expected, so Flower Alley did draw in. The eight race series worth $20 million total in purse money for Thoroughbred racehorses will be televised live on ESPN for the first time from noon to 7:00pm Eastern Time and the audio portion will also be broadcast live on the Internet via Real Audio. Post times for the Breeders' Cup races and the race order are as indicated in the table below.
3-year-old Bernardini was made the even money favorite on the morning line for the Breeders' Cup Classic - Powered by Dodge with Argentina-bred Invasor at 5-1 and and 4-year-old gelding Lava Man at 6-1. This race could determine Horse of the Year honors dependingon who wins.
