Note: Rombauer broke his maiden in his first start last year at Del Mar then finished sixth in the Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes and second in the American Pharoah Stakes (G1). He shipped to Keeneland and was fifth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) for his final start of the year. He made his 2021 debut winning the El Camino Real Stakes at Golden Gate then shipp to Keeneland again to finish third in the Blue Grass Stakes (G1) for his final prep. He skipped the Kentucky Derby to go straight into the Preakness. He rallied in the stretch to win the Preakness by 3 1/2 lengths.
