Note: Cherry Wine made his first start in August at Saratoga and took 5 tries to break his maiden, finally winning in November at Churchill Downs. He was off until January and won an allowance at Gulfstream Park for his 2016 debut. He shipped to Oaklawn to finish fourth in the Rebel Stakes (G2), then to Keeneland to finish third in the Blue Grass (G1). He was the second also-eligible for the Kentucky Derby (G1) but did not get to start. He went to the Preakness next and finished second to Exaggerator. He ran evenly in Belmont Stakes finishing seventh.
