Breeders' Cup World Championships Entries

The Breeders' Cup will be held at Churchill Downs for the seventh time in 2010, more than at any other track. Like last year, the Breeders' Cup will have a total of 14 races spread over two days of racing with $25.5 million in purse money on the line. Friday November 5th will have six races with the Marathon first then all the distaff divisions, headlined by the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic (formerly the Breeders' Cup Distaff) worth $2 million. Saturday November 6th will have eight races headlined by the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at 1 1/4 miles.

This year the Breeders' Cup will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC with the schedule so far being:
     Friday, November 5, 3:30-7:00 ET on ESPN2
     Saturday, November 6, 1:30-7:00 ET on ESPN and ABC

A record 184 horses were pre-entered, including 26 from overseas, for the 14 Breeders' Cup Championship races. Today on Tuesday, November 2, final entries were taken, post position drawn, and morning line odds set for all 14 Breeders' Cup races. Both Zenyatta, winner of the Classic last year, and Goldikova, winner of the Mile the last two years, are back to defend their titles and are the favorites in their races.

Below is the list of races with conditions, purses, and post times for both days. Please note that sunset is at 6:40pm, so there will be some races under the lights each day. Click the race names to get links for info specific to that race plus a list of the entries, post positions, and odds for it. Each horse's name will link to a full profile with a photo and lots of info about that horse.
