Note: Laoban started twice at age 2, finishing seventh and second in maiden races at Del Mar and Los Alamitos. He made his 2016 debut finising third in the Sham Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita. Then he shipped cross country to finish second in the Gotham Stakes (G3) at Aqeuuct. He is still a maiden despite placing in two graded stakes. He led and faded to fourth in the Blue Grass Stakes (G1) at Keeneland for his final prep. He was the first also-eligible for the Kentucky Derby but did not get in the field so will now go on to the Preakness.
