Carrying the garland of roses and the bouquet for the winner over before the Derby. Unfortunately they never got used since Big Brown was too fractious. Although they didn't get used, the roses were waiting by the winner's circle with an honor guard.

Playboy Bunnies Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison who star in the TV show "The Girls Next Door" in the paddock. They spent quite a while there, even posing for photos with many of the fans and other people in the paddock.
 
The statue of Aristides, winner of the first Kentucky Derby, next to the paddock with the statue of jockey Pat Day in the background. On Wednesday, one of the few white thoroughbreds registered ran in the 5th race, Patchen Prince. He had the lead early but faded to 5th.
