2014 Belmont Stakes Entries

Date: 06/06/2014

A field of 11 was entered in the 146th Belmont Stakes on Wednesday morning, including Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner California Chrome who will try to become the 12th Triple Crown winner, and the first in 36 years, on Saturday.

California Chrome will break from post two as the 3-5 morning-line favorite with regular rider Victor Espinoza aboard. His trainer, 77 year old Art Sherman, said, "There's a lot of fresh horses taking shots at me. He's going to have a target on his back. It's going to be a jockey race. [Espinoza] will just have to maneuver him to the right spot and just sit there and not move too quick. It's a long race. He just needs to have a good trip; that's all I hope for."

Live television coverage will be provided from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Network and 4:30-7:30 p.m. on NBC, with post time for the Belmont Stakes scheduled for 6:52 p.m. All times are Eastern time zone. Free past performances are available from BRISnet (look for Commissioner).
