BELMONT RESULTS

Today the entries were taken and post positions drawn for the 134th Belmont Stakes. All eyes will be on War Emblem Saturday as he breaks from post 10 and tries to become the 12th Triple Crown winner. A field of 12 competitors has assembled to try and stop his bid for immortality with Proud Citizen and Sunday Break judged as having the best chance to upset him according to the morning line odds. Visitors to this website selected Proud Citizen and Magic Weisner as the most likely spoilers, although the results were close.

"The horse is doing great," said War Emblem's trainer Bob Baffert. "I am happy with the draw. I wanted an outside post. He is a fast horse. He can leave there and dictate the kind of pace that he wants." War Emblem arrived in New York Wednesday morning via airplane from Kentucky.

Wiseman's Ferry is one of the few in the race with enough speed to challenge War Emblem on the front end. Trainer Bobby Frankel, whose entry Medaglia d'Oro will break from post 8, said: "The horse on the inside (Wiseman's Ferry) is going to be dictating the pace. If he was in the race by himself, he might win it.".

Note: Puzzlement is a late scratch due to a bruised foot.

Below are the entries for the Belmont. All horses carry 126 pounds.
