2008 Kentucky Derby Future WagerPool Three of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager is now closed. The mutuel field of all other 3-year-olds is the favorite at 9-2 with a $2 will-pay of $11.00, with juvenile champion and Rebel Stakes winner Looking at Lucky the second choice, also listed at 9-2 but with a slightly higher will-pay of $11.80. Florida Derby winner Eskendereya is the 5-1 third choice, with all other horses at double digit odds, led by 13-1 Awesome Act, winner of the Gotham last out. There was a total of $310,154 bet in Pool 3, of which $224,358 was to win and $85,796 was in the exacta.
The Future Wager is a two-dollar minimum bet to win only with no refunds if your horse doesn't start in the race with both win and exacta wagering available. Pool 1 was held on February 12-14 and Pool 2 was held on March 5-7. The 136th running of the Kentucky Derby is scheduled for Saturday, May 1. Full rules and info for the wager is available here.
