The longest race on Dubai World Cup day is the $5 million Nakheel Dubai Sheema Classic (G1), contested at 2400 meters (about 1 1/2 miles) over the turf course at Nad al Sheba. Fifteen were originally entered but Collier Hill was scratched from the race, leaving 14 in the field. English Derby winner Sir Percy was sent off as the 4-1 favorite over Japanese hope Pop Rock and Breeders' Cup Turf winner Red Rocks, each going off at 9-2 in the international betting pool. Todd Pletcher had 2 in this event, 20-1 Honey Ryder and 22-1 Host.

Second place finisher Oracle West in the post parade. His jockey Weichong Marwing said, "He has come on from his last race and gave me everything today."
Third place finisher Youmzain in the paddock before the race. His jockey Richard Hughes said, "He has run a great race, but maybe a little more pace on early in the race would have helped us."
Beaten favorite and fourth place finisher by a nose Sir Percy in the post parade. His jockey Martin Dwyer said, "He is back. I was really pleased with that effort, he tried all the way and made a big move in the straight, but then he just got tired."
