Left: Argos in the winner's circle. Winning owner David Romanik said, "My second horse (Caltech) raced in the Breeders Cup in 1989 – it's been a long time since then, and now, my second one. This horse breezed at OBS in :30.4 and the only other horse I've ever owned who did that ran in the Breeders' Cup in 1989, so thought I had something special. We ended up buying him back at the sale because he didn't reach the price we wanted. But we thought he was this caliber."

Left: Argos in the paddock before the race. Winning jockey Flavien Prat said, "It got a little rough going into the first turn. Luckily, I was a bit behind that, so it didn't affect me as much as others. I honestly, really loved the way he ran last time. I thought, you know, the last quarter was quite fast, and I don't think it was the right setup for him. And obviously today, we went on the inner [turf] and we had a better draw and a bit more experience and seasoning. And it was a good run."
Right: Argos in his new winner's blanket. Romanik added, "I should have been in front of a TV because I couldn't see much in the stands. I saw the red saddle towel when he took the lead. We were pretty happy when it was happening, and I didn't think he was going to get passed, anyway. He's got the breeding to go distance."

Left: Second place finisher and beaten favorite Wild Desert in the paddock before the race. The Charlie Appleby trainee improved his record to 1 win, 2 seconds, and 1 third in 4 starts, earning $97,240 for owner-breeder Godolphin.

Winning owner-breeder Glenn Sikura said, "The people at the farm who are forgotten all the time, they do such hard work and such great things, and they love these animals, and this is the greatest sport in the world. When you can get a win like this, I tell you, it's made my year."
Right: Corsia Veloce in her winner's blanket. Winning trainer Josie Carroll said, "It is so special, and I've trained others in the family, which makes it feel even nicer for all of us. It's very exciting. A filly like this, you don't often go three-for-three with a baby like this, and the way she did it so gamely, it just gives you shivers."

Left: Corsia Veloce in the paddock before the race. Winning jockey Fraser Aebly, celebrating his first Grade 1 win said, "She's a very easy filly to ride. She does everything right, and she makes you look good. This one's very special me, because of the connections. You know, the owners are very special, and so is the trainer. We have a very good connection going on here."
