The fillies never get the press the boys do, but on Friday they get the spotlight in the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs. On Tuesday the post positions were drawn for the 136th Kentucky Oaks and a full field of 14 3-year-old fillies made the entry box for this $584,300 Grade 1 event over 1 1/8 miles on the main track. One additional filly was entered, Seeking the Title, but as the max field size is 14 she was excluded based on earnings.

As expected, trainer Todd Pletcher did not enter Devil May Care in the Oaks and she will be entered in the Kentucky Derby tomorrow instead.

The 6-5 favorite is Blind Luck who has 6 wins in 9 career starts and has never finished worse than third. Last out she won the Fantasy at Oaklawn and before that was third in the Santa Anita Oaks. The filly who beat her there, Crisp, is tied for second choice at 8-1 along with Fantasy runner-up Tidal Pool and Davona Dale winner Amen Hallelujah.

For more info, news, and notes on the Oaks, check the special Oaks website from Churchill Downs. Free past performances are available here from Daily Racing Form. You can watch the Kentucky Oaks on Bravo on Friday afternoon from 5-6pm EDT.
