Left: Anisette in the winner's circle. Winning trainer Leonard Powell said, "They went the second quarter in :23 and they didn't back up but I felt she was in a good spot. When they made the turn, Umberto had to choose outside or inside and remember, she had to give six, eight, 10 pounds to the field so weight did matter, but once she leveled off, she really went on and at the sixteenth pole I knew she would get there."
Right: Anisette in the paddock before the race. Winning jockey Umberto Rispoli said, "I knew Bellabel up ahead of me is the kind that wants to lug out. So I knew there'd be a spot for me coming home. I also knew I was on the best filly; that makes a difference. I was giving pounds away (from six to eight), so you have to be aware of that. But I won today even easier than it looked. She was the best."

Jockey Juan Hernandez sent Nooni to the lead out of the chute through fractions of 21.87 and 44.90 while pressed by Casalu and stalked by Vodka With a Twist. Turning for home Nooni continued to lead through 5f in 57.42 and easily held off Vodka With a Twist to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:10.41. It was another 3 1/4 lengths back to Casalu third, and 5 3/4 more to Night Beacon last.
Left: Nooni in the winner's circle. Winning trainer Bob Baffert said, "When you're on the inside like that you have to go. I was hoping they wouldn't be battling each other. They went fast early but I like the way Nooni kept on going. I haven't really trained her that hard but she's just got real class. 2-year-old, second out, you don't know how they're going to respond to the dirt but these are nice fillies."

I had to push her a little at the end, but we did it. I asked her to run around the quarter pole and she switched leads and picked it up really well. You know, she gave me another good breath and she took another good step. It's only her second race but she looks really good so far. Can't wait to see how she improves."
