Rallied late again in the Santa Anita Derby, finishing 3rd again behind Pioneerof the Nile and Chocolate Candy. In the Kentucky Derby, he was never closer than 15th which is where he finished. Five weeks later in the Belmont, he rated just off the pace in third early saving ground, but tired after 9 furlongs, fading to finish 8th beaten 18 lengths.
