Was 3rd to Hard Spun in the Lecomte Stakes but turned the tables on him to win in the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn. Came back to run a distant third to Curlin in the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn then set a slow pace in the Blue Grass only to finish fourth by a neck in a blanket finish. Chased early in the Kentucky Derby then faded badly to finish 17th.
