2008 Preakness Contenders

Updated: 05/12/2008

Entries are here!

The Kentucky Derby is in the record books and the only horse with a chance to be the next Triple Crown winner is now Big Brown. Can he do it or will someone else win the Preakness? Here is the latest list of horses planning to start in the Preakness. Right now, it looks like all the other Derby horses are planning to skip the Preakness, which is very unusual. Expect changes to this list as more decisions about going are made by trainers as to whether or not to go.

Be sure to click the link on each horse's name to view full info, stats, and a photo where available. Recapturetheglory is now out due to a fever, Harlem Rocker will skip the Preakness to point to the Queen's Plate, and Gayego may go depending on how his workout goes Tuesday.
