Review: Black Winning Jockeys in the Kentucky Derby
I had the wrong link for this one last week, so here it is again with
the right link. Sorry about that! It is a good book, so take a look.

More Spend a Buck eulogies
EARLY11 writes, "I love a horse who can outbreak the field, sprint to the
lead and just say 'catch me if you can'. Of course we all know what
happened in that Derby. Angel put Spend A Buck on the lead and he just ran
like a wild horse all the way around the track. After the half-mile time
flashed up, my Dad said 'crazy'; after the three-quarters, he said 'no
way'; the mile 'he's going to stop'. The entire race, I was just
mesmerized. It still leaves the impression in my mind of the second
greatest individual performance I had ever seen (after Secretariat's
Belmont). He was truly great and I'd probably rank him right up there with
Northern Dancer as a racehorse."

Help for a "Euro-shipper"?
REMITTANCEMAN writes, "I am a big race fan here in the UK and have started
to watch TRNI which we now receive each night. The problem is its very
difficult to get information here on US racing (apart from the big races).
Could anyone give me any tips as to what to look out for at places like
Calder and Hawthorne (they seemed to be covered regularly) such as top
trainers, and if these courses favour certain type of runners. I would be
most grateful for any information, especially if I win a few pounds!"

Television Schedule
What's on TV this week.

Stakes Race Schedule
Listing of stakes races with purses of $75,000 and up for the next week.
