Pick Six Scandal Update
The three suspects turned themselves over to authorities on Tuesday.
Charges are expected to be files, but as yet no proof has been presented
and they all maintain they are innocent.

Thoroughbred Racing's Annual Champions
The Eclipse Awards didn't start until 1971, but racing has named annual
champions since the 1930's. Check out all the champs, both equine and
human, with pictures of the Horse of the Year winners where available.

Personal Ensign
The last horse to retire undefeated from major competition was the great
filly Personal Ensign. She retired after winning the Breeders' Cup
Distaff, her daughter My Flag won the Juvenile Fillies, and this year her
granddaughter Storm Flag Flying also won the Juvenile Fillies to become
the first third generation Breeders' Cup winner.

EXODUS3977 writes, "Even in light of what has happened, the Catskill
OTB that handled several suspicious P6 and P4 wagers is merely
considering a system to record the actual phone bets. Are these people
insane? What is there to consider? It's all well and good that they
have caught those responsible for this fiasco, but until they make real
changes that actually ensure the integrity of wagering, they are doing
nothing more than patting the bettor on the back and saying, 'It's
okay...it won't happen again because we say so. ' I refuse to be
patronized in that way."

JOANNAV3 writes, "I was absolutely sick when they showed the horse
being dragged away with a blanket covering it. I doubt the scene was
real, but it sure looked like it." TORAYUME replies, "Turned my stomach
too, but I'm sure it was fake...Joey P.'s bald head, on the other hand,
is absolutely real...I mean, when it's still attached...funny way to
work it in, at the last possible second..."
