Breeders' Cup Pre-Entries
104 horses, including 23 from Europe and 12 supplemental entries,
have been pre-entered for the 2002 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred

Breeders' Cup Weather
Breeders' Cup Day is starting to appear in the long range forecasts
for Chicago now. Good news, the rain and snow is now gone from the
forecast but is still calling for it to be quite cold.

Fourstardave Remembered
Always a fan favorite, the 17 year old gelding died unexpectedly of
a heart attack while at Belmont Park prepping for a personal appearance.
He will be buried at Saratoga where he won at least one race for
eight consecutive years.

Breeders' Crown Entries
Post positions were drawn Tuesday for the 8 Breeders' Crown
championship races to be held at Woodbine on Saturday evening for
the 2 and 3 year old harness horses. Entries and odds available here.

Dancethruthedawn retired, out of the Distaff
TEXSQUARED writes, "Canadian filly Dancethruthedawn is injured and
won't end her career at Arlington as originally planned, but is
retired and will be bred to A.P. Indy in the spring. She had one
Grade 1 win, in this year's Go For Wand Handicap at Saratoga. The
injury is non life-threatening."

Charismatic sent to Japan
RETROSPECTIVE writes, "Here we go again with losing our Derby winners..."
RODISIAK answers, "I've got to agree with your "here we go again..."
attitude. War Emblem, Squirtle Squirt and now Charismatic to Japan?! I
think they belong in the U.S. to spend the rest of their careers at stud,
where they made names for themselves, and accomplished their status. But
unfortunately like they say, 'Money Talks'...."
