2002 Kentucky Derby Contenders
Big action this past weekend with Harlan's Holiday winning the Blue
Grass, Buddha winning the Wood, and Private Emblem winning the Arkansas
Derby. Lots of new info added.

The Federico Tesio and Lexington Stakes
Entries, odds, and past performances for the final two majore preps
this year.

Graded Stakes Earnings
This is what determines who will get in the Derby since the field is
limited to a maximum of 20 starters. Some good contenders, like Sunday
Break, are currently low on the list and may not get in!

Derby Party Resources
Going to throw a Derby party for your friends and family? Here are
recipes, betting games, places to order supplies, and more to help
you make it your best Derby party ever.

Book Review: From the Desert to the Derby
"Inside the Ruling Family of Dubai's Billion-Dollar Quest to Win
America's Greatest Horse Race" by Jason Levin. Strongly recommended for
all fans of racing.

Book Review: Horse Racing's Holy Grail
"The Epic Quest for the Kentucky Derby" by Steve Haskin. Recommended for
new fans wanting to learn some recent Derby history or planning to bet
the Derby.

Sunday Break may not get in!
DEPALMA13 writes, "If Johannesburg and Castle Gandolfo come, I don't see
how Sunday Break gets in. It looks like the owners of Wild Horses are
sending him, and Ocean Sound as well as USS Tinosa are in. Only horse
ahead of him that are not going: Officer, Mayakovsky and
It'sallinthechase. Possible outs: Azillion, Booklet, and Ethan Man. I
think he's about to become a very rested horse for the Preakness."

Raise A Native lines detrimental in Derby?
CATHERINE623 writes, "The Raise a Native curse applies only to horses
with RAN in the dam's sire line. Point Given's dam sire is Turkoman who
is a direct descendent of RAN. Those who believe in this curse count
this as bad. Harlan's Holiday is another example of this type of horse.
A horse with RAN in the dam's sire line has never won the Derby. On the
other hand, horses with RAN in the sire line have won numerous Derbies.
Some examples are Fusaichi Pegasus, Unbridled, Alysheba, and others."

Television Schedule
What's on TV this week.

Stakes Race Schedule
Listing of stakes races with purses of $75,000 and up for the next week.
