Left: Danon Decile heads to the winner's enclosure. Winning jockey Keita Tosaki said, "He's a very, very good horse. There was huge pressure on me so it's fantastic to win this race. For the people watching at home in Japan so late, I am so happy, thank you so much. He was excited before the race, but he settled when he got into the stall. He ran a great race, traveled really well on the bridle."

Left: Second place finisher and beaten favorite Calandagan heads back to the barn. Trainer Francis-Henri Graffard said, "He was slow out of the stalls and he takes so much time to get into his rhythm. Mickael said during the race he was happy they weren't going faster because he needed to get going. I don't have any excuses. In the straight we were following the winner and he had the first kick. He came really fast at the end. It was a very good start of the season for him. The plan is to go to Epsom for the Coronation Cup with him, but we'll see how he comes back from Dubai. It's a very good run and Mickael will know him more for the future, too."
Right: Third place finisher Durezza shortly after the start. Jockey Christophe Soumillon said, "I had a great trip and with the good draw I was able to sit in the ideal position. Turning in I was able to accelerate past Rebel's Romance but the first and second swept past me quite easily 300m from home. He was brave and ran all the way to the line and he's done himself proud."

The $1 million Al Tayer Motors Dubai Gold Cup (G2) is the longest race on World Cup night, contested at 3200 meters (about 2 miles) on the turf. Ascot Gold Cup (G1) runner-up and QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup (G2) third place finisher Trawlerman was sent off as the 5-2 favorite over two horses at 9-2, Continuous, third in the Red Sea Turf Handicap (G2) and Epic Poet, second in the Red Sea.
Jockey William Buick sent Trawlerman to the lead first time by and he set the pace most of the way while pressed by Double Major and stalked by Term of Endearment and Straight. Turning for home, Trawlerman continued to lead but tired in the final furlong. Dubai Future, midpack early under Silvestre De Sousa, came out for room and rallied to win by 2 lengths over Double Major in 3:21.50. It was another 1 1/4 lengths back to late-running Epic Poet third, while favorite Trawlerman faded to 5th beaten 4 1/4 lengths.

Left: Dubai Future returns after the race. Winning trainer Saeed bin Suroor said, "He has improved this year, even though I know he's nine years old but this year he came to Dubai a month ago and I know the way to train him. I told Silvestre to keep him behind and the key is to keep him relaxed. He is 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 miles horse, but we tried him over 1 3/4 and now 2 miles and he's done well. "
Right: Dubai Future with his new winner's blanket. Winning jockey Silvestre de Sousa said, "Congratulations to Saeed, he got him spot on today and this sets the horse up for the season. I told Saeed last time he only cantered round, just to take the freshness out of him. Today my concern was just to get him relaxed and for the first half of the race I had him just the way I wanted. He was breathing well and relaxed and he just took me there. I'm delighted for His Highness [owner Sheikh Mohammed] and thankful for having the opportunity to ride this horse."
Left: Second place finisher Double Major heads out to the track. Jockey Maxime Guyon said, "He ran really good. Just into the first turn the horse behind me touched me a little bit so my horse was not comfortable and he just pulled a little bit. But he had a good turn of foot and he finished strong. He can win a Group 1 again this year."
Right: Third place finisher Epic Poet heads back to the barn after the race. Jockey Danny Tudhope said, "They went slow and it didn't suit him but he was okay. Because they went steady early on, he just didn't see it out."
Fifth place finisher and beaten favorite Trawlerman returns after the race. Jockey William Buick said, "We didn't go too hard, he would have preferred it more if it became more of a stamina test. But I thought he finished off well. He is a very honest horse."
