Harlan's Holiday, winner of the Florida Derby will be the favorite in the Blue Grass Stakes |
This weekend we have the big three prep races with the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct, the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland, and the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn. This is pretty much the last stop on the Triple Crown trail for many of the contenders and is a make or break day for them. In the Wood Memorial you will have Saarland, Sunday Break and Medaglia d'Oro trying to prove they deserve a trip to Kentucky. At Keeneland, Harlan's Holiday has a chance to cement himself as the Derby favorite with a win in the Blue Grass. The Arkansas Derby came up a bit light this year with no major contenders, but several second tier horses will be trying to move up the ladder including Windward Passage and It'sallinthechase.
ESPN will show the Wood Memorial from 3:30-4:30pm EDT while NBC will have the Blue Grass and a Derby Preview from 4:30-6:00pm EDT. You can also watch or listen online at the links provided below. Past performances for all the races will be available free online from DRF and Equibase with links after the entries below.
