Maybry's Boy exits an impressive closing victory in the Spectacular Bid S. (G3) at Gulfstream, and that striking performance will make him the heavy favorite in the Hutcheson S. (G2). However, the son of Broad Brush had the benefit of settling behind a ridiculously fast pace, before storming past his rivals down the lane. There are a few speedsters entered in the Hutch, but the opening fractions should be more sensible.
Therefore, we will look for some value and take Monthir to win this affair. He’s coming off a game second-place finish to Grey Beard - who will be a major player in the upcoming Fountain of Youth S. (G1). Expect Monthir to sit close to the front after the break, which will allow him to make his move before Maybry's Boy starts his rally from the back of the pack. All this improving youngster needs is a patient ride and he will get his picture taken; then we will cash at the windows!
