2008 Nearctic (G2) and Summer (G3) Stakes - 8-1 shot True to Tradition got up by a nose over 52-1 Rouse the Cat to win the Nearctic Stakes (G2) for the turf sprinters. Pre-Arc Saturday at Longchamp - The day before the Arc de Triomphe featured the 7 furlong Prix de la Foret (G1) won by Paco Boy and the 2 1/2 mile Prix du Cadran (G1) won by Bannaby, both of which were ridden by jockey Christophe Soumillon. Closing day of the 'J' track at Picov Downs - Sunday was the final day of the season at this small quarterhorse track in Ajax, Ontario, before they build a new 5 furlong oval. Included is the results of their first ever graded race, the Alex Picov Memorial Championship (G3).

Deweycheatumnhowe wins the Canadian Trotting Classic - He bounced back from his 2nd place finish in the elimination to win the $1 million race by 2 lengths, his 18th win from 19 career starts. Get the results, chart, and photos here.
Rahy's Attorney upsets in the Woodbine Mile (G1) - The Ontario-bred gelding held off the filly Ventura to win by 1 1/4 lengths while heavy favorite Kip Deville was a well beaten 5th. Get the results, chart, and photos here.

Whitney and Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicaps - Commentator sprang to the front from the gate and never looked back in the Whitney, with Student Council and Grasshopper finishing 2nd and 3rd.
